Objectives
In 2014 the World Health Assembly Resolution 67.19 was adopted to ensure access to palliative care as a core component of health systems, with an emphasis on primary health care.The session will provide a snapshot on implementation of the WHA Resolution on Palliative Care by presenting work conducted with WHO partners to assess the development and quality of palliative care worldwide and to create tools to facilitate more rapid palliative care implementation.The session will present the current global level of palliative care development, accessibility, and quality and will discuss how palliative care can and should be integrated into cancer care from a global perspective.
