1. Prevention, screening and early detection
Objectives
The MD Anderson Global Oncology Program has developed collaborations with ministries of health (MOHs), international agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These collaborations are centered around training and education, research, and policy/cancer control planning. The session will include a short overview of the MD Anderson Global Oncology Program followed by a panel discussion regarding collaborations with the Indonesia, Mozambique and Zambia MOHs, WHO, PAHO, UICC and IAEA. The panelists will discuss specific ongoing activities in the areas of cervical cancer elimination, breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, radiotherapy, diagnostic imaging and pathology. The session will conclude with Q&A from the audience.
