Objectives
Therapeutic advancements have been taking place at a steady pace for oncology treatments. Ensuring that these advancements reach eligible patients in a timely and equitable manner across countries is critical for the management of these health conditions. However, the availability and use of these therapies vary across different countries which can lead to inequities in patient outcomes. While oncology as a whole receives attention in discussion on patient access, trends in hematological malignancy access remain less understood. The IQVIA Institute conducted research earlier this year with the aim to quantify trends in the availability of therapies for hematological malignancies across select countries with reported oncology therapy access challenges and disparities. The results of this research was published in an IQVIA Institute report on June 14th 2024.The symposium is intended to continue the timely conversation of hematological malignancy therapy availability across various geographies. The main discussion will focus on actions and policies that are needed to overcome the key barriers that limit hematological cancer therapy access.
