Objectives
This session will provide an important platform for discussing childhood cancer and the factors contributing to the disparity in survival rates between high-income and low-income countries. Through panel and group discussion, initiatives to improve outcomes for childhood cancer will be examined, including how to implement & achieve the CureALL framework; the aims and expected impact of the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. Strategies for strengthening healthcare systems, such as training of healthcare professionals, improving early diagnosis, and community engagement and education initiatives will be explored, including what role governments and global health organisations must play over the short and medium term if survival rates for children with cancer in LMICs are to improve.
